The America’s Cup World Series began today in San Diego, California
America’s Cup World Series crews are racing Saturday and Sunday in the Port Cities Challenge. Three fleet races are scheduled each day. Following the fleet racing (the entire fleet races together) will be match racing (one on one) starting next week.
Green Comm Racing, the Spanish yacht, carried out its second full day of training yesterday in San Diego on Friday and enters today’s challenge with confidence and a desire to bring the America’s Cup, the oldest trophy in sport, back to Valencia.
Green Comm Racing is the team representative of Real Club Nautico de Valencia, the 7th challenger of the 34th America's Cup.
Today’s racing started out with rain and light winds, not typical of San Diego. These conditions are challenging for the tacticians, who must stay hyper-alert to take advantage of every small puff or wind shift.
