The weather's still great! Still sunny and hot most days, there's always a chance of rain now, but it's usually at night. This weekend is the most important in Valenciano's calendar because October 9 is Valencia Day Don't be surprised if you hear almost continuous loud bangs in the distance, many of the towns and villages that surround Valencia mark the celebrations with fireworks both day and night. The best firework display is on midnight Saturday (08 October) night by the Calatrava Bridge in the River Turia Park, when there is the XXXII annual international firework festival. This year with towo competitors the local Pirotecnia Turis & from Italy Parente Romualdo. Between them they will put on a 41minute display! As part of the celebrations for Valencia Day there are Bullfights at the Plaza de Toros on Saturday and Sunday 08 and 09 October at 6pm.more

The Palau de les Arts celebrates its first 'Nit a les Arts' on Saturday October 15. Visitors can enjoy two different tours through the magnificent Santiago Calatrava designed building and Meir Omer Wellber conducts a free concert by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana in the Auditorium at 20.00 featuring works by Stravinsky, Brahms, Dvorak, Falla and Tchaikovsky.more

LAS FALLAS 2012 - 15-19 MARCH

Following the success of our La Tomatina tours for the last few years, thisisvalencia.com are planning new tours to take in what is arguably the most spectacular of all of the festivals in Europe - Las Fallas.

This incredible fiesta takes place throughout the month of March but is most exciting from the 15-19 of the month.
