The Most obvious choice for food purchases in Valencia is the marvellous Mercado Central. Said to be the biggest covered market in Spain and is in the final throws of a millions-of-euros restoration. It's a fascinating place and always bustling, very dangerous if you can't resist fresh vegetables, meat and fish. French hipermarket chain Auchan has two branches of Al Campo in Valencia - one is in Centro Comercial Bonaire (above), the other is standalone and is actually on the beach(!) at Port Saplaya in Alboraya.
