Denominación de Origen Arroz de Valencia presents La Fiesta de la siege del Arroz (The Feast of the Harvest) on Sunday 7 September at the Port of Catarroja, on the shores of the Albufera. There are activities throughout the day, including rice cooking classes, a bike tour of the paddies, latin sailboat regattas, and rice dishes prepared by great local chefs. You can register through the website arrozdevalencia.org or phone 96 170 61 56.

Muixeranga1Algemesí Muixeranga
On September 7th and 8th Algemesí dresses up and celebrates its patron saint, the Mare de Deu de la Salut. The village becomes a living museum where you can gasp at the Muixeranga (human towers), thrill to the Tornejants and Bastonets (ancient war dancers), and enjoy the Pastoretes (shepherds) or the Llauradores (farmers). Everyone in the town becomes a part of its history and tradition in this medieval festival. Tradition, culture and faith come together in a celebration that each year welcomes thousands of visitors.
